In speaking to Ms. Williams, it\u2019s clear that she always wanted to sing and act. When asked what her early inspirations were, she says, \u201cI use to go to music rehearsals with my uncle, which led me to sing in church and then school\u201d. In fact, one of my early fond memories was performing in The Mikado \u2013 a comic opera by W.S. Williams was born Cindy Ann Williams in Chicago, Illinois<\/a> to Charles, a police officer[3]<\/a><\/sup> and Beverly, a medical lab technician.[3]<\/a><\/sup> She was raised in the Pullman<\/a> neighborhood on the city\u2019s south side. She spent parts of her early childhood in Indiana, where she sang in her grandfather\u2019s church.[3]<\/a><\/sup> For school, Williams attended Bennett Elementary School[4]<\/a><\/sup> before she moved with her mother to Muncie, Indiana<\/a>, when she was a teenager. While in Indiana, Williams attended Northside High School<\/a>; graduating in 1984.[1]<\/a><\/sup> After high school, Williams attended Ball State University<\/a>, studying theater. She remembers a work environment that fostered a positive atmosphere for the actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her favorite actor, you ask? She doesn\u2019t have a favorite, but she enjoyed working with Denzell Washington. \u201cHe was brilliant to watch\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Immediate Family <\/strong>a Comedy of Sibling Secrets, directed by Phylicia Rashard, by far was the best acting environment. As an actress and before the \u201cMe Too\u201d Movement, Cynda herself experienced some uncomfortable moments. Knowing what she knows now, she plans on taking an active role in her daughter\u2019s new acting career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Williams is still acting and has new projects we must all look out for. \u201cI am excited about\u00a0American Zealot\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Hood Dragon\u00a0<\/strong>as well as few others\u201c.\u00a0<\/strong> Williams still sings and writes, has a self-help podcast\u00a0P.P.C. Podcast with Cynda Williams | Ximalaya International Edition Himalaya<\/a>\u00a0and provides hypnotherapy for advocational use i.e., over-eating, behavioral changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
