Ever since Tupac Shakur entered into the industry, he captured peoples minds and hearts. With his ability to take political and community issues, and speak truth into them to shed light and perspective; gave the masses hope and maybe even understanding of their own situations they were dealing with. After his life of dedication to music and activism, he has been honored with his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Among the artist to honor him during this tribute were: Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, T.I., Y.G., and Treach (Naught by Nature).
Snoop was emotional as he inducted the “California Love” artist into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, remembering Shakur as not only a musical genius, but as a great man.
“While we may be here today to celebrate one of music’s most prolific and outspoken artists as he’s rightfully enshrined amongst the greatest musicians to ever do it, I’m here to make sure that ‘Pac is remembered the way he would’ve wanted to be — a strong black man that stood for his,” Snoop told a roaring Barclays Center crowd.
“That’s what made Tupac an amazing actor… that’s what made him refuse to lower his head when rallying against injustice … That’s what made us so engaged with everything he ever did, both before and after his death,” he continued. “That’s what made Tupac the greatest rapper of all time.”
Snoop had a lot of positive words about his fallen friend and ex-label mate.
