Meet Hairstylist & Musician Jorge Ramirez – By C.O’Jon
Born in the Bronx, N.Y. Jorge Ramirez started doing artwork at the age of five. His specific training was Industrial Drafting and Design-Vocational School. Additionally, he won the Ford Motor Award for engine cross section drawing 1958-59 and is a Navy Veteran 60-64, Hospital Corpsman.
Jorge illustrated a medical book on “Congestive Heart Failure” for C.V. Mosby Co. Business card designs for clients. Currently, he paints by commission – painting memories, whether that be animals, people, or
landscapes, both past and present.

Jorge’s art ranges from, portraits to florals, animals, architecture and more. There are no boundaries in Art. Says Mr. Ramirez, “I am capable of painting any subject. I work in basically Acrylics, Pen & Ink, Pencil, and Oil’s“. Jorge has had the opportunity to display some of his Artwork at The Phoenix Art Museum.
